Brilliant bathroom cleaning tips
Always ventilate properly when using chlorine bleach. As alternatives, try traditional formulas or one of the new oxygen bleach products. Don't mix bleach and ammonia.
• For stubborn toilet rings, try pumice bars.
• Sprinkle Tang powder in toilet bowl when you go to bed or to work. Swish with stiff brush, flush.
• Avoid the drop-in toilet cleaning tablets.
• Never use bleach on rust stains. Scrub with salt and lemon juice, using a stiff nylon brush. Don't use a metal brush.
• Try oven cleaner or mineral spirits to remove soap scum if traditional methods fail.
• Polish faucets with a used dryer sheet.
• To clean grout, make a paste of baking soda and chlorine bleach. Apply to grout, let dry, rinse.
• Use two-bucket method: Wet sponge in one bucket of cleaning solution, rinse in another. Allen Norwood
Vanquish With White Vinegar
To clean fiberglass tubs and shower surrounds, heat white vinegar and pour into spray bottle. Vinegar doesn't have to be so hot that you can't comfortably work with it.
Spray on fiberglass, wait 15 minutes, scrub with more of the vinegar.
Rinse well and dry.
